Select Times
How to choose from suggested times, make conditional selections, and counter-propose alternatives.
When the assistant suggests meeting times, you have several ways to respond. This guide covers all your options.
Selecting a suggested time
Section titled “Selecting a suggested time”Simply reply with your preference. The assistant understands casual language:
- “Tuesday at 2pm works for me!”
- “The second option is good”
- “Let’s do 5pm on Dec 3”
- “Option 3 works”
You don’t need to match the exact format the assistant used. Just make your choice clear.
Conditional selections
Section titled “Conditional selections”You can select a time conditionally, holding it pending confirmation from specific people:
“Let’s do 5pm on Dec 3, if that works for Sasha and Matt”
The assistant will:
- Hold that time slot
- Explicitly ask Sasha and Matt to confirm
- Wait for their responses before booking
This is useful when you have a preference but want to make sure key participants can attend.
Declining and counter-proposing
Section titled “Declining and counter-proposing”If none of the suggested times work, tell the assistant what would:
- “None of these work. How about Friday afternoon instead?”
- “I’m free after 2pm any day next week”
- “Can we try mornings? I have meetings every afternoon”
- “These are all too soon—let’s look at the week of the 15th”
The assistant will search for new times based on your feedback and reply with fresh options.
Delaying scheduling
Section titled “Delaying scheduling”If now isn’t a good time to schedule:
- “I’m slammed until after the holidays. Can we reconnect in January?”
- “Let’s push this to next month”
- “Circle back with me next week”
The assistant will schedule a follow-up reminder and reach out when you’re ready.
Partial confirmations in group meetings
Section titled “Partial confirmations in group meetings”For meetings with multiple participants, the assistant tracks who has confirmed:
“Alice confirmed Tuesday at 2pm. Still waiting to hear from Bob and Carol.”
Once enough participants confirm (or you explicitly say to book it), the meeting is finalized.
Tips for faster scheduling
Section titled “Tips for faster scheduling”- Be specific when it matters — “45 minutes” or “before Friday” helps narrow options faster
- Mention constraints upfront — “Not Mondays” or “mornings only” saves a round-trip
- Confirm quickly — The faster everyone responds, the sooner the meeting is booked
